4 Date Ideas to Keep You Warm

Try These Date Ideas To Bring Back Some Heat in Your Relationship!

Winter months have you running out of new and interesting things to do with your significant other? Being cooped up indoors can become a drag when the cabin fever sets in. If you’re tired of playing Uno and watching episodes of Lost on DVD, here are some ideas to help you and your loved one mix up the routine:

Scenic overlook and hot chocolate.

You might be tired of trudging through the snow covering your sidewalks, but that white coating might look lovely from a different view. If you’ve got a mountain nearby, head up to a scenic overlook! Try it out at sunset for the best views and then watch the city lights come on as the sky gets dark. Hiking up to the overlook is a surefire way to get your blood flowing and keep you warm, but if you’re not up for the trek then find an overlook you can drive to in your car. Hang out with the heater blasting and enjoy the views from the comfort of your vehicle. Either way, bring along a couple thermoses of hot chocolate to sip on while you take in the sights. The flavors these days provide you with options ranging from dark chocolate to mint to pumpkin. Whichever kind you prefer, you’ll be happy to have the hot beverage on hand at this time of year.

Try out a new recreational activity.

Being active is one of the best ways to stay warm when the temperatures are chilly. Check out the amenities at your local gym or recreation center and try something new on for size. Whether it’s racquetball or rock climbing, there are plenty of indoor sports that you might end up really enjoying. Just because the football fields and baseball diamonds are frozen over doesn’t mean you have to put physical activity on hold. Aside from sports, most rec centers and gyms offer free classes with a membership. Who knows, zumba might be just the thing to make you really bond as a couple.

Check out a dinner theatre.

Not only does this get you out of the house, but it also puts a twist on your typical movie-viewing experience. Some dinner theatres feature an actual live show during the meal, while others are more like a traditional movie theatre, but with tables. In either case, you’ll get to skip the long lines at the concession stand because your server will come to you and take your order. When it comes to a dinner and a movie, this experience combines the best of both worlds.

Get a couples massage.

Nothing sounds cozier than a warm day at the spa. Most places offer packages designed specifically for couples, so you get to experience the soothing atmosphere together from start to finish. These packages offer a full range of romantic amenities for you and your sweetheart, from adjoining pedicure chairs to private rooms with fireplaces and beverages. Do some research online and find a facility with a package that appeals to both of you, and then book a session! Getting out of the cold winter and into a steamy spa is a romantic and relaxing way to stay warm on a night out.

A Man’s Guide to Surviving a Blind Date

Nervous Blind Date

Nervous About Your Blind Date?

Any form of dating can be nerve-wracking, but blind dates are probably the most hated form of date, whether you’re a man or a woman.  The first thought most people have when their friend says “I should set you up with so and so, she’d be perfect for you” is to run away, fast!  Next time you hear those words, though, give your buddy a chance.  You never know, he might actually have found your soul mate.

Here’s a few tips that will help you to get through the date with your sanity and dignity intact:

Control your expectations

Don’t build up a mental image of your prospective date.  Hiding disappointment when your buddy’s version of “tall and blonde” is nothing like your version is almost impossible, and even if your date does turn out to be funnier, slimmer, or more attractive than you expected, do you really want to get a little tipsy and let slip “You’re not as fat as I thought you would be!”  If you have no mental image built up, you won’t be able to slip up.

Dress Up, But Not Too Much

Aim for smart casual menswear for your first date.  This shows that you’re willing to make an effort, but avoids any awkward moments if your date has went firmly in the “smart” or “casual” directions.  It also allows you to fit in at the cinema, a bar, a restaurant, or a nightclub – so picking a venue should be easy enough.

Leave the Destination Open

Instead of over-planning, arrange to meet at a coffee shop or somewhere similar, and pick a destination from there.  That means that if things are awkward you can suggest heading to the cinema, which is a great way to kill time with no conversation required.  If you’re enjoying each other’s conversation, your Barbour jacket should qualify as smart casual menswear and gain you entry to a fancy restaurant, and if you’re both party animals you can hang up that Barbour jacket in the cloak room of a local night club and let your hair down for the evening.

Don’t Be Cheap

If you’re keeping the evening open, make sure you’re willing to foot the bill.  If your date insists on splitting the bill, then don’t push too hard to pay it, but don’t get out the calculator and work things out to the nearest penny either.

End the Date Politely

Whether you had a good time or not, be courteous when the evening ends.  If you think that the date went well suggest a time and place for a second meeting.  If you didn’t have a good time, just say something along the lines of “It was nice to spend the evening with you” and leave it at that.  If you didn’t enjoy the date, there’s a good chance that she didn’t enjoy it either, and she won’t be expecting you to call her.

Resist any temptation to be rude, even if you thought your date was insufferable.  Remember you were put in touch via a mutual acquaintance, and if you’re rude to your date, it will get back to them.

6 Signs That Tell You He’s Falling in Love with You

falling in love

If you’re wondering how to tell if a guy loves you, you’re in luck. It’s really not that hard. Although most guys may have trouble communicating their emotions and feelings verbally, there are plenty of telltale non-verbal signs he loves you that are easy to identify and spot.

Guys are notoriously shy about announcing their love out loud. If you’re planning to wait until he whispers those three little words in your ear, you might have to wait a lot longer than if you would just look out for other signs he loves you.

When a guy loves you, it’s just as hard for him to keep it under wraps as it is for him to say it out loud. Here’s how to know if he loves you.

• He prefers hanging out with you to chilling with his friends
• He bends over backward for you
• He stops noticing other women so much
• He hangs on every word you say
• He doesn’t mind doing things for you
• He is still affectionate even when he’s not after sex

1. He Prefers Hanging out with You to Chilling with His Friends

Just like spending time with your BFF is one of the most important parts of your life, men put a lot of importance on finding quality time to spend with their friends. It is almost irresistible to a guy when the call comes in to inform him that the guys are shooting pool at the bar, catching the game at Eddie’s, or watching Bruce Willis kick the daylights out of the baddies.

If your guy consistently foregoes opportunities for guy time in order to spend more time hanging out with you, your ‘he loves me’ radar should probably start tingling.

2. He Bends Over Backward for You

While most women are wired with a selfless, motherly instinct to help other people, the vast majority of guys are a lot less willing to do things for others unless they get something back in return. If your man begins to take the initiative to go way out of his way to do things for you, all he may be hoping for in return could be your love.

These could be things like driving you where you need to go even when it’s out of his way, bringing you lunch on your lunch break even if it means missing his, or even something as simple as giving you his coat when it’s freezing outside.

3. He Stops Noticing Other Women so Much

The more you begin to fill up your man’s senses, the less he will notice the other attractive potential mates on the scene. If you man is always checking out the ladies that pass by out of the corner of his eye, you may need to start working a bit harder for his attention. But if a real knockout manages to make a complete pass in front of your man without him taking his eyes off you even once, love just might be in the air.

4. He Hangs on Every Word You Say
If there’s one thing most guys hate more than anything else it’s hearing about all the drama that goes on between you and your friends. If you can get away with going on for hours to him about who said what at work or who likes who among your friends, he may just more than like you.

5. He Doesn’t Mind Doing Things for You

Another way how to tell if a guy loves you is to test him by asking him to do something for you that he wouldn’t normally want to do. Don’t ask for money, as most guys are willing to throw money at just about any woman. Instead, ask for help washing your car or for his company while you visit your sick grandma.

6. He’s Still Affectionate Even When He’s Not after Sex

When a guy begins to develop stronger feelings for you, he will find himself unable to stop touching you, hugging you, and kissing you even when sex is not on his mind. When his levels of affectionate touching begin to shoot through the roof, his feelings for you might be skyrocketing as well.
